Individual punishments for the protagonists
The world football governing body determined specific punishments for several members of the Albiceleste and the Spanish team, with the Argentine players being the most affected by the disciplinary decisions:
- Leandro Paredes: 10 match suspension.
- Nahuel Molina: 7 match suspension.
- Roberto Ayala: 3 match suspension.
- Thiago Almada: 1 match suspension.
- Gavi (Spain): 1 match suspension.
