Border Sports Games 2025: Bahoruco shines in the qualifiers
Neiba.- The 2025 Border Sports Games, after a decade of absence, have generated great expectation among athletes and disciplines from the participating provinces. The province of Bahoruco has demonstrated its superiority in various disciplines during the qualifiers.
Organized by the Ministry of Sports and Recreation (MIDEREC), the winners of the Southern and Northern border zones will face each other in the final, which will take place in Montecristi from July 9 to 13.

The volleyball teams, both female and male, from Bahoruco were crowned champions in the Southern region qualifiers.
In the female branch, Bahoruco defeated Pedernales with partial scores of 25-23, 22-25, and 15-11. Arlin Mariel Cuevas and Ingrid Isabel Román were the most outstanding players for Bahoruco.
In the men’s division, the representatives of Bahoruco defeated Elías Piña with scores of 25-13 and 25-13. Marco Llasmin Vargas and Melvin Díaz de León were the most outstanding players.Boxing
