Francisco Alejandro Campos Álvarez assumes the Executive Directorship of the Port Authority
President Luis Abinader has made official strategic changes to the government cabinet, appointing Francisco Alejandro Campos Álvarez as the new executive director of the Dominican Port Authority (APORDOM). Campos Álvarez replaces Jean Luis Rodríguez, who has been transferred to lead the Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (MIVHED).
This movement represents a natural transition within the institution, as Campos Álvarez knows the entity’s operations thoroughly after having served as Chairman of its Board of Directors since 2020.
A career linked to the port sector
Campos’ management in the public sector has been constant over the last six years. His work has been fundamental in the execution of key projects that seek to modernize the national port system. In addition to his role on the Board of Directors, he led the Presidential Commission for Port Modernization and Security, from where he promoted initiatives to consolidate the Dominican Republic as a logistics and cruise ship benchmark in the Caribbean region.
Campos has actively participated in the expansion of port infrastructure, including the development of cruise terminals and the ambitious Cabo Rojo tourism project in the province of Pedernales.
