Police operations achieve significant seizures and arrests across the country

The National Police intensified its preventive and operational efforts in recent days, achieving significant results in the fight against crime and illicit trafficking. These actions, deployed in various parts of the national territory, allowed for the recovery of stolen vehicles, the seizure of illegal goods and controlled substances, and the dismantling of clandestine gambling dens.

Stolen vehicle recovery in Nagua

In the municipality of Nagua, María Trinidad Sánchez province, authorities managed to arrest 20-year-old Wanderlyn de la Cruz Minaya. During the intervention, a gray 2019 Kia K5 vehicle was recovered, which had been reported stolen in the city of La Vega. The car, which was being driven without a license plate, was transported to the corresponding jurisdiction for the appropriate legal purposes.

Blow to smuggling in Moca

On the other hand, in Moca, Espaillat province, police officers arrested Rolando Antonio Quezada Gómez and Albín De Jesús Pimentel Jiménez in flagrante delicto. The individuals were intercepted on the Ramón Cáceres highway while traveling in a white Hyundai truck, loaded with illicit merchandise.

After attempting to evade the authorities, the suspects were intercepted, with 50 packs of cigarettes of illegal origin found inside the vehicle, totaling 10,000 units.

Interventions in Santo Domingo Este

The Regional Sub-directorate of Intelligence (DINTEL), supported by the Rapid Action Unit and the Preventive Police, executed strategic operations in key sectors such as Boca Chica, Los Tanquecitos, La Caleta, and Monte Adentro. These actions resulted in the arrest of seven people and the seizure of various illegal items:

  • 140 portions of a white substance, presumably cocaine.
  • 26 portions of a vegetable, presumably marijuana.
  • Two slot machines and one Tarzan-type machine.
  • Two drawers for gambling games and various accessories, including a hookah.

The detainees, along with the evidence collected during the interventions, are in police custody and will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office to face the corresponding charges for their illicit activities.
