Walbert Ureña Celebrates His First MLB Victory
ANAHEIM.- Dominican pitcher Walbert Ureña had a memorable day this Wednesday, achieving his first victory in the Major Leagues. His outstanding performance propelled the Los Angeles Angels to an 8-2 victory over the Chicago White Sox at Angel Stadium. The 22-year-old right-hander showcased his talent on the mound, working through six solid innings. During his performance, he allowed only one run, two hits, and three walks, while striking out five opposing batters. This victory secured the first series win for the Angels since mid-April. Ureña, who is considered one of the organization’s top prospects, was celebrated by his teammates in the clubhouse after the game.The Angels’ offense shone in the second inning, scoring five runs. Veteran Travis d’Arnaud led the attack with a three-run home run, his first of the season. Bryce Teodosio and Zach Neto also contributed with a double and a run-scoring triple, respectively. Mike Trout added another RBI. In the fourth inning, the Angels added two more runs, backing up Ureña’s excellent performance, who improved his ERA to 3.22 on the season. It should be noted that the Dominican pitcher began the season as a reliever, but has proven his worth since his return to the starting rotation.“It means a lot to me.
