Santo Domingo – Karl-Anthony Towns, the stellar Dominican player, once again was a key figure in the New York Knicks’ victory over the New Orleans Pelicans, achieving a double-double that propelled the team to its seventh consecutive win.
Towns Leads the Knicks
Towns finished the game with 21 points and 14 rebounds, demonstrating his influence on both sides of the court. His performance was crucial, especially in the third quarter, where the Knicks took a significant lead.
The Knicks’ attack was led by Jalen Brunson, who scored 32 points. OG Anunoby also had an outstanding performance with 21 points. Mikal Bridges contributed 14 points and Mitchell Robinson added 11, completing an effective offense that led the Knicks to improve their record to 48-25.
The game remained contested for most of the second half. After a tie at 66 points at the start of the third period, Towns scored five consecutive points, supported by long-distance shots from Bridges and Anunoby, which tilted the scoreboard in favor of the Knicks.
In the last quarter, the Knicks managed to stay calm and secure the victory from the free throw line, despite the Pelicans’ attempts to get closer in the final minutes.
On the Pelicans’ side, Zion Williamson led with 22 points, followed by Jeremiah Fears with 21 and Saddiq Bey with 18. This defeat represents the second consecutive setback for New Orleans.
