J.J. Spaun Crowned Champion of the U.S. Open in an Epic Day

American golfer J.J. Spaun won the 125th edition of the U.S. Open, demonstrating his skill on the demanding Oakmont Country Club course. The event, which kept spectators on the edge of their seats, culminated in a memorable comeback by the champion.

Spaun, 34, with a history of diabetes and Mexican-Filipino roots, achieved an impressive performance with a +2 in the final round (72 strokes) and a total of -1, being the only player under par in the tournament. This triumph represents the most significant achievement in his career, adding a second PGA title to his record, after the 2022 Valero Texas Open.

A Movie-like Comeback

The final round was filled with emotions and unexpected changes. Spaun, after a complicated start with five bogeys in the first six holes, demonstrated his resilience. An unfortunate bounce on the 2nd hole seemed to frustrate his aspirations, but Spaun recovered with two birdies on holes 12 and 14.

Spaun closed with two consecutive birdies on holes 17 and 18, ensuring an unforgettable finish.
