Houston Astros Secure Cavan Biggio with Minor League Contract

The Houston Astros have announced the signing of utility player Cavan Biggio, via a Minor League contract that includes an invitation to the Major League team’s spring training. Biggio is expected to join the camp in West Palm Beach, Florida, this Sunday. Biggio, son of Hall of Famer Craig Biggio, comes to the Astros with considerable experience in the Major Leagues. In his career, Biggio has participated in 561 games, accumulating 80 doubles, 52 home runs, 190 RBIs, and 262 walks, with an OPS of .712. Furthermore, he has demonstrated his skill in base stealing, with 33 stolen bases in 36 attempts. In the 2025 season, Biggio played in 37 games with the Kansas City Royals. Over seven seasons in the Majors (2019-2025), he has represented the Toronto Blue Jays, Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, and the Royals. Originally selected in the fifth round of the 2016 Draft by Toronto, from the University of Notre Dame, Biggio is known for his defensive versatility, having played in multiple positions.
