LIDOM Resumes Key Game in La Romana: Águilas and Toros in Search of the Final

Santo Domingo. The Technical Directorate of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) has confirmed that the postponed game will take place tonight. The game, scheduled for Monday, January 19, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. at the Francisco A. Micheli stadium in La Romana, corresponds to the game canceled by Contentious Resolution No. PL-002-2025-2026, originally played on January 16.

This matchup will allow both teams to complete the 18 games of the Round Robin schedule of the Dominican professional baseball tournament 2025-2026.

We abide by LIDOM’s decision and the team will be on the field tonight.

LIDOM has specified that, in case of a tie between both teams in the second position of the Round Robin, an additional tie-breaking game will be played. This match will be held as stipulated in article 19, literal e), of the current Regulations for the 2025-2026 tournament, at the headquarters of the team that won the particular series in the semifinal.

If the Toros del Este win tonight’s game, the Final Series will begin on Wednesday. Otherwise, if the Águilas Cibaeñas win, a decisive game will be played tomorrow Tuesday to define the second team qualified for the final.

The official statement was issued on January 19, 2026, by the Technical Directorate of LIDOM, as part of the regulatory provisions governing the semifinal phase of the championship.
