Julio Rodríguez Inaugurates Sports Complex in Loma de Cabrera

The stellar Major League player, Julio Rodríguez, led the inauguration of a renovated sports complex in his hometown of Loma de Cabrera, Dajabón. This initiative, the result of a personal investment exceeding 1.3 million dollars, seeks to boost sports and community development in this border area. The ceremony was attended by family members, local authorities, and prominent professional players such as Juan Soto, Fernando Tatis Jr., and Luis Castillo. The work included the transformation of the municipality’s main baseball field, turning it into the first public play with artificial turf in the Dominican Republic. The project was carried out with the support of the No Limits Foundation and Green Hope foundations, linked to the baseball player, and the construction was carried out by Orlova Group. The primary objective is to provide safe and adequate spaces for the sports practice of children and young people in the community.

Rodríguez highlighted that the land is part of his personal history and that the initiative seeks to contribute to the integral development of the new generations of the municipality. In addition to the sports infrastructure, the baseball player contributed to the acquisition of an ambulance for the municipality and the remodeling of the local cultural center, as part of a broader community program. The activities included visual health days, sports clinics, and the delivery of more than 7,500 toys and sports items, within the framework of the celebrations of the Three Kings Day. Julio Rodríguez, 25, debuted in the Major Leagues in 2022, a season in which he was selected Rookie of the Year. In four seasons he has accumulated two seasons with at least 30 home runs and 30 stolen bases, and holds a long-term contract with the Seattle Mariners.
