WrestleMania Expands: Saudi Arabia to Host the Event in 2027

For the first time in its history, WrestleMania, the pinnacle event of professional wrestling, will be held outside of North America. The city of Riyadh, in Saudi Arabia, will host the “Showcase of the Immortals” in 2027, as part of the “Riyadh Season”, according to WWE’s announcement. Since its creation in 1985, WrestleMania had only been held in North American cities. Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE’s Chief Creative Officer, had hinted at the possibility of the company’s most important event traveling abroad, and now that vision is materializing.

This is an opportunity to show the world that WWE is a global brand that reaches every corner of the world and excites fans from all over.

The official announcement comes a few days after Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, revealed in a now-deleted Snapchat live video the news that WrestleMania would be moving to Saudi Arabia.

WrestleMania is already the most important date on the wrestling calendar, and this announcement marks a significant moment in our partnership with WWE. We deeply respect the legacy of WrestleMania and the global prestige it holds among wrestling fans worldwide.

WWE has been holding events in Saudi Arabia since 2018, following a $1 billion deal with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to hold multiple shows in the country over the next 10 years. Next year’s Royal Rumble will be the first of WWE’s “Big Four” events to be held in Saudi Arabia. WrestleMania 42 will be held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on April 18 and 19, 2026. It will be the second consecutive time that Las Vegas will host WrestleMania.
