WrestleMania Expands: Saudi Arabia to Host the Event in 2027

For the first time in history, WrestleMania, the pinnacle event of professional wrestling, will be held outside of North America. The city of Riyadh, in Saudi Arabia, will host the 2027 edition, as part of the “Riyadh Season” initiative, according to WWE’s announcement. Since its creation in 1985, WrestleMania has been held exclusively in North American cities. The news confirms the expectations generated by Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE’s Chief Creative Officer, who had hinted at the possibility of taking the company’s flagship event internationally.

This is an opportunity to show the world that WWE is a global brand that reaches every corner of the planet and excites fans everywhere.

The official announcement comes a few days after Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, mentioned WrestleMania’s arrival in the country in a live Snapchat video that has since been deleted.

WrestleMania is already the most important date on the wrestling calendar, and this announcement marks a significant moment in our partnership with WWE. We deeply respect the legacy of WrestleMania and the global prestige it holds among wrestling fans around the world.

WWE has been holding events in Saudi Arabia since 2018, as part of a billion-dollar deal with the Kingdom, which includes holding multiple events over ten years. Next year’s Royal Rumble will be the first of WWE’s four “Big Four” events to be held in Saudi Arabia. WrestleMania 42 will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on April 18 and 19, 2026, marking the second consecutive time that Las Vegas hosts the event.
