CM Punk Wins Championship, Seth Rollins Steals the Show at SummerSlam
In a night full of surprises at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, WWE’s SummerSlam event gave us unforgettable moments. CM Punk, after defeating Gunther, was crowned the new World Heavyweight Champion, but the joy didn’t last long.
On Saturday, during the first night of the event, Seth Rollins, taking advantage of his Money in the Bank contract, burst in to snatch the title from Punk immediately after his victory.
Punk had earned the right to challenge Gunther after an intense fight on “Raw” the previous month.Other Highlights of the Night
The night began with the reunion of the former The Bloodline champions, Roman Reigns and Jey Uso, who teamed up to defeat Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed in a tag team match.
In the women’s division, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss defeated Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez. In addition, Tiffany Stratton successfully defended her WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill.
The world of wrestling also welcomed country music star Jelly Roll, who debuted in a tag team match alongside Randy Orton. Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul were responsible for spoiling the newcomer’s night, taking the victory.
