Brock Lesnar Surprises with WWE Return at SummerSlam

In an unexpected turn that shook the wrestling world, Brock Lesnar made his return to WWE at SummerSlam, marking his reappearance in the ring after six months since he was mentioned in a lawsuit against the company and former executive Vince McMahon. Lesnar, known for his ferocity in the ring, last competed at SummerSlam 2023, where he was defeated by Cody Rhodes at Ford Field in Detroit. His return took place at the end of the main event of the second night of SummerSlam at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Rhodes regained the undisputed WWE championship in a “street fight” against John Cena, who has announced his retirement as an active wrestler after this year. Cena, after being cheered by the fans, knelt and kissed the canvas, at which moment Lesnar’s entrance music resonated. Lesnar, after entering the ring, connected his devastating “F-5” on Cena, sealing the end of the spectacle. Lesnar, with a background as an amateur wrestler and UFC competitor, is recognized for his multiple championships in WWE, where he held the world title seven times, being known as “The Beast Incarnate”. Lesnar’s reappearance comes after he was identified in a court filing on January 31, related to the lawsuit filed by Janel Grant against WWE and Vince McMahon. Grant, who worked in the company’s legal and talent departments, alleges that McMahon forced her to have a sexual relationship to keep her job. She also claims that McMahon asked her to create “personalized sexual content” for Lesnar in July 2021. McMahon resigned in January 2024 as executive chairman of the board of directors of TKO Group, WWE’s parent company, following the filing of Grant’s lawsuit. WWE has avoided commenting on the ongoing litigation. WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul Levesque, known as Triple H, addressed the situation on the podcast “The Sports Agents”, where he commented that the company must move forward with its creative work.
