Las Vegas Aces Secure Their Third WNBA Title

Las Vegas Aces and A’ja Wilson solidified their dominance in the WNBA by securing their third championship in four seasons, culminating in a resounding victory over the Phoenix Mercury in the 2025 Finals. However, sportsbooks are already focused on the 2026 season, anticipating a shift in power with a potential new MVP. Minnesota Lynx is positioned as the main favorite to win the WNBA title in 2026, with odds of +225 on ESPN BET. Other bookmakers also favor the team led by Napheesa Collier, although with slightly higher odds, reaching up to +350 on FanDuel.

Not all major sportsbooks see Minnesota, which fell to Phoenix in the 2025 semifinals, dethroning Las Vegas next season. BetMGM has the Aces as favorites for the 2026 title at +300, while the Lynx are in third place at +400. Las Vegas at least shares second place at other sportsbooks.

In most odds lists, the Indiana Fever are also listed at the top, tied with the Aces in second place with +250 on ESPN BET. Indiana had an outstanding run to the WNBA semifinals, even coming close to eliminating Las Vegas in five games despite key injuries to Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham, among other players. The Fever are consistently one of the most popular future bets among the betting public and represent a great risk for bookmakers. New York Liberty, WNBA champions in 2024, are also on the list of favorites, but the odds vary considerably between bookmakers, ranging from +330 to +700. This season’s runners-up, the Mercury, are just behind Liberty in most odds lists, but also present a wide range of odds, between +700 and +1100.

The highest odds on the list correspond to the expansion teams Portland Fire and Toronto Tempo, both with odds of 250-1 for the 2026 title on ESPN BET. Although expecting a championship from either of these franchises in their first WNBA seasons could be a challenge, Golden State Valkyries (+6000) proved that there is value in betting on expansion teams. The Valkyries exceeded their preseason win total of 8.5 midway through their inaugural season and made the playoffs despite preseason odds of +1300.
