Las Vegas Aces Secure Their Third WNBA Title
The Las Vegas Aces, led by A’ja Wilson, solidified their dominance in the WNBA by winning their third championship in four seasons. The team achieved a decisive sweep against the Phoenix Mercury in the 2025 WNBA Finals.
While sports analysts are already projecting the 2026 season, betting houses have begun to establish their forecasts, with an emerging team as the favorite and a possible new MVP.
Minnesota Lynx Tops Betting Odds for the 2026 Season
The Minnesota Lynx are positioned as favorites to win the WNBA title in 2026, with initial odds of +225. Although other bookmakers also favor the team led by Napheesa Collier, they offer slightly higher odds, reaching up to +350.
However, not all major sportsbooks see Minnesota, which fell to Phoenix in the 2025 semifinals, as the next champion. BetMGM gives the Aces the best odds for the 2026 title, at +300, while the Lynx are in third place at +400. Las Vegas, at least, shares second place in other sportsbooks.
Indiana Fever and New York Liberty in the Contest
The Indiana Fever are also in a favorable position, tied with the Aces in second place with odds of +250. Despite key injuries to Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham, the team had an outstanding performance in the WNBA semifinals, competing intensely against Las Vegas in five games.
The New York Liberty, WNBA champions in 2024, are also considered contenders, although the odds vary between +330 and +700 depending on the sportsbook. The Phoenix Mercury, runner-up this season, closely follows the Liberty in most predictions, with odds ranging from +700 to +1100.
Expansion Teams and Betting Value
The Portland Fire and Toronto Tempo, expansion teams, present the highest odds, at 250-1 for the 2026 title. Although winning the championship in their first season could be a challenge, the performance of the Golden State Valkyries (+6000) demonstrates the potential for value in betting for expansion teams. The Valkyries surpassed their preseason win total of 8.5 midway through their inaugural season and made the playoffs despite odds of +1300 before the season.
