These statements were attributed to Engelbert by Napheesa Collier, a star player for the Minnesota Lynx.Engelbert expressed his disappointment with what he considers inaccuracies in the media coverage, especially on social media. He affirmed his respect for the players and acknowledged the intense emotion and passion surrounding the collective bargaining negotiations. In an interview after her departure, Collier harshly criticized the league’s leadership. Engelbert announced a meeting with Collier to address her concerns and acknowledged the need to improve the relationship with the players.I did not make those comments.
