Caitlin Clark Ready to Return to Action with the Indiana Fever
Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark anticipates her return to the court on Wednesday against the Golden State Valkyries, after missing the last five games due to a left groin injury. Clark participated in the 5-on-5 practice on Monday for the first time since suffering the injury on June 26, a crucial step towards medical clearance. If there are no setbacks in the next 24 hours, he will be available to play.During Clark’s absence, the Fever achieved a 3-2 record, including a victory against the Minnesota Lynx in the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup championship game. This is Clark’s second injury of the season, as she has missed 10 of the Fever’s 18 games. She also missed five games last month due to a left quadriceps injury. Clark, who has expressed his aversion to minute restrictions, said he doesn’t know what his workload will be against the Valkyries on Wednesday.It’s good to be back out there and get back into the rhythm of playing with my teammates again. It’s going to be fun to get back out there, hopefully, and just feel things again… Obviously, it’s hard to be down and watch for a few weeks, so I’m excited to get out there.

However, his performance declined in the following four games, averaging 14 points per game. So far this season, Clark averages 18.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 8.9 assists. Her return comes with five games remaining before the All-Star break, which will be played in Indianapolis, where Clark will serve as team captain. She and Napheesa Collier, the other captain, will make their team selections on Tuesday night.I hope to play a decent amount, in the high 20s. I guess it depends on how the game goes and how I feel and what the team needs. But I feel pretty good. But I’m going to try not to overdo it and put myself in a good position to keep going.
