Brock Purdy Doubtful for Game Against the Saints
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 2 matchup against the New Orleans Saints, and quarterback Brock Purdy’s participation is uncertain.
Purdy, who is dealing with injuries to his left shoulder and toe, has little chance of playing against the Saints, according to coach Kyle Shanahan on Wednesday.
Purdy is expected to miss Wednesday’s practice. Shanahan indicated that the toe injury, which is the main concern, could keep him off the field for several games.
In case Purdy can’t play, Mac Jones, who signed with the Niners as a free agent in March, would be the starter.
