Alyssa Thomas made history by becoming the first WNBA player to achieve three consecutive triple-doubles. Thomas’s outstanding performance, with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists, led the Phoenix Mercury to a resounding victory over the Indiana Fever with a score of 95-60. This triumph represents the third consecutive victory for the Mercury. Thomas secured her 19th career triple-double, an impressive figure that far surpasses any other player in the league, with only four. In his last three games, Thomas has accumulated a total of 41 points, 33 rebounds, and 32 assists, demonstrating his versatility and dominance on the court.

DeWanna Bonner scored 23 points, her season-high, while Satou Sabally added 15 points and 8 rebounds. Kahleah Copper also had a standout performance with 11 points for the Mercury. The 35-point victory is the third-largest margin in Phoenix franchise history. With a 19-11 record, the Mercury equal their total wins from the previous season (19-21).

We just trust each other. We’ve had a lot of adversity this season, injuries and things like that. I think we’re starting to hit our stride.

Caitlin Clark did not participate in the game due to a groin injury, missing her ninth consecutive game. The Mercury responded to an Indiana run with a 14-0 offensive, led by a Sami Whitcomb three-pointer, extending their lead to 23 points in the third quarter. Indiana struggled to score for more than four minutes in the third quarter, finishing with only 11 points in that period. The regular season series is tied 1-1, with the last game scheduled for September 2nd in Phoenix.
