Success in Audiences: Wimbledon Final Boosts Figures
The thrilling Wimbledon men’s final, which pitted Jannik Sinner against Carlos Alcaraz, generated a notable increase in viewership, solidifying itself as the most-watched event since the epic 2019 final.
The clash between Sinner and Alcaraz exceeded expectations, attracting a massive audience not seen since the duel between Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer in 2019, which was decided in an exciting fifth set.
The Sunday match averaged 2.9 million viewers, representing a 31% increase compared to the previous year’s final. This figure marks the best performance since Djokovic prevailed in a fifth-set tiebreak in the match between two tennis legends.
The string also reported an increase in the audiences for the semi-finals, both men’s and women’s.
The women’s semifinals, where Amanda Anisimova achieved a remarkable victory, attracted 897,000 viewers, the highest figure since 2015, when Serena Williams was part of the semifinals. On the other hand, the average audience for the men’s semifinals was 1.31 million, the highest since 2019.
