With this victory, Swiatek joins Aryna Sabalenka in the quarterfinals, marking a milestone in women’s tennis. It’s the first time since 2005 that two women have reached this stage in all four Grand Slams of the year, an achievement not seen since Lindsey Davenport and Maria Sharapova. In the next round, Swiatek will face Amanda Anisimova or Beatriz Haddad Maia of Brazil, seeking a place in the semifinals. The 24-year-old Polish tennis player is seeking her second US Open title and her seventh in a Grand Slam.
