Wimbledon champion Iga Swiatek continues her triumphant path at the China Open. This Saturday, Swiatek defeated Yuan Yue with a score of 6-0 and 6-3, securing her place in the third round of the tournament. With this victory, Swiatek has achieved a significant milestone in her career. She becomes the first player to record 25 or more wins in WTA 1000 events for three consecutive seasons, according to the WTA. Swiatek, who also won the Korea Open last week in Seoul, has an impressive record. She has won the French Open four times and the US Open once, totaling six Grand Slam singles titles.In other Saturday matches in Beijing, Mirra Andreeva, seeded number four, defeated Zhu Lin with a score of 6-2 and 6-2. American Emma Navarro also achieved a victory, overcoming Elena-Gabriela Ruse with partials of 6-3 and 7-6 (0). Naomi Osaka won the first set of her second-round match, but Aliaksandra Sasnovich came back to win with scores of 1-6, 6-4, and 6-2. Jannik Sinner, in the men’s division, defeated Frenchman Terence Atmane with scores of 6-4, 5-7, and 6-0, thus advancing to the quarterfinals.
