Jannik Sinner Conquers the China Open

Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner won the China Open title after defeating young American Learner Tien in a convincing final. Sinner, showing a great level of play, won with a score of 6-2 and 6-2, thus consolidating his preparation for the Shanghai Masters. After his performance at the US Open, Sinner demonstrated his ability to recover, obtaining his third title of the season and the twenty-first of his career. His dominant performance against Tien, 19, who became the second youngest player to reach the final of the tournament, showed his excellent form.

We will try to improve and strive for more. We’ll see how the rest of the season goes, but I’m very happy.

The next challenge for Sinner will be the Shanghai tournament, where he starts as the favorite. This is due to the withdrawal of Carlos Alcaraz, who suffered an ankle injury during the first round of the Japan Open, a tournament he eventually won. In the China Open semi-final, Sinner achieved his eleventh consecutive victory against Alex de Minaur, with a score of 6-3, 4-6, and 6-2. This victory secured him a place in his ninth consecutive final in hard court tournaments. Learner Tien, currently ranked number 52, played his first tournament final. His path to the final included the victory against Daniil Medvedev, who retired due to injury. The ATP event in Beijing was held simultaneously with the WTA 1000 tournament, where Iga Swiatek was eliminated after losing to American Emma Navarro.
