Rybakina Conquers Ningbo Open and Secures Tenth WTA Title

NINGBO, China – Elena Rybakina showcased her power by coming back from a set down to defeat Ekaterina Alexandrova in the final of the Ningbo Open. The final score was 3-6, 6-0, 6-2, thus securing her tenth WTA title. Rybakina, seeded number three, had a complicated start, yielding to the Russian Alexandrova, who positioned herself with a 4-1 in the first set. However, the Kazakh tennis player reacted strongly in the second set, dominating her opponent and winning nine consecutive games. In addition, she connected 11 aces throughout the match.

“Thank you very much to my team for always pushing me to be better. Especially at the end of the season, it’s not easy, but without you I wouldn’t be here,” Rybakina expressed.

This triumph represents Rybakina’s second title of the year. Her outstanding performance at this stage of the season keeps her in the running for a place in the WTA Finals, which will be held in Riyadh in November. For Alexandrova, this defeat marks her third lost final in a WTA 500 tournament.
