Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka demonstrated her prowess at the National Bank Open, securing her place in the quarterfinals with an impressive victory. Osaka, who once led the world rankings, defeated Anastasija Sevastova with a score of 6-1, 6-0 in just 49 minutes, in a match marked by windy conditions. This victory represents the second fastest in Osaka’s career, surpassed only by a match in Brazil in 2016, where she achieved a victory in 42 minutes.This achievement marks the first time in 19 months that Osaka has reached the quarterfinals in a WTA 1000 or Grand Slam event.
In her next match, Osaka will face the winner of the match between Amanda Anisimova and Elina Svitolina.
