Lleyton Hewitt and Son Cruz Fall in Quarterfinals at Sydney Challenger

The return of two-time Grand Slam champion Lleyton Hewitt, alongside his son Cruz in the New South Wales Challenger tournament, came to an end in the quarterfinals.

Hewitt, who retired from singles tennis in 2016, teamed up with his 16-year-old son, Cruz. The duo achieved a previous victory, but they couldn’t advance further in the tournament.

Former world number 1 Lleyton Hewitt, US Open champion in 2001 and Wimbledon in 2002, and his son Cruz had defeated Hayden Jones and Pavle Marinkov with a score of 6-1, 6-0 on Wednesday.

However, the father-son team fell to Dane Sweeny and Calum Puttergill in the quarterfinals, with a score of 7-5, 6-4.

Lleyton Hewitt is also the captain of the Australian Davis Cup team. Cruz Hewitt is one of the three children that Hewitt has with his wife, the former actress Bec Hewitt.
