Lleyton Hewitt and his son Cruz fall in the quarterfinals at the Sydney Challenger
The comeback of Lleyton Hewitt, two-time Grand Slam champion, alongside his son Cruz at the Sydney Challenger tournament, came to an end in the quarterfinals.
Hewitt, who was number one in the world and won the US Open in 2001 and Wimbledon in 2002, retired from individual tennis in 2016. On this occasion, he partnered with his son Cruz, 16 years old.
The father-son duo achieved a remarkable victory on Wednesday, defeating Hayden Jones and Pavle Marinkov with a resounding 6-1, 6-0.
However, in the quarterfinals, Hewitt and Cruz were defeated by Dane Sweeny and Calum Puttergill, who won with scores of 7-5, 6-4.
Lleyton Hewitt is currently the captain of the Australian Davis Cup team. Cruz Hewitt is one of the three children Lleyton has with his wife, actress Bec Hewitt.
