Alexander Isak Considers Leaving Newcastle United, Liverpool on the Lookout

The striker Alexander Isak is open to the possibility of leaving Newcastle United this summer. Sources close to Alofoke Deportes indicate that Liverpool is the main candidate to sign the player if his departure materializes. Newcastle has consistently shown its reluctance to let the player go. Isak, who was omitted from Eddie Howe’s 30-player squad for the club’s pre-season tour of Singapore and South Korea due to a “minor hamstring injury”, could be the subject of a £150 million offer that would alter the club’s stance. Isak, 25 years old, was signed for 63 million pounds sterling from Real Sociedad in August 2022. He also missed the 4-0 friendly defeat against Celtic in Glasgow. Howe explained that he decided to send Isak back to Newcastle due to speculation about his future. Newcastle have maintained throughout the summer that Isak, who has three years remaining on his contract at St James’ Park, is not available for transfer.

Newcastle manager Howe, who last week expressed “confidence” that Isak would remain at the club this summer, is scheduled to speak at a press conference in Singapore on Saturday, ahead of the friendly against Arsenal 24 hours later.
