Germany, after a complicated start, has secured its place in the World Cup with a resounding victory over Slovakia, demonstrating its ability to recover and maintaining its history of qualifications.
The 6-0 triumph over Slovakia on Monday certified Germany’s recovery, a team that has proven its worth in the most important football tournament.
The Germans will participate in the World Cup for the twenty-first time in twenty-three editions. They were only absent from the inaugural edition in 1930 and the one in 1950.
Netherlands, a historic rival of Germany, also managed to qualify, securing their participation in the tournament to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico next year. The Dutch, with a 4-0 victory over Lithuania, achieved qualification undefeated, surpassing Poland in the table.
Slovakia and Poland, who finished second in their respective groups, will play the playoffs.
The UEFA playoff draw will take place on Thursday, where 16 teams will compete for four spots in matches to be played in March 2026.
The World Cup draw will take place on December 5.
