Arsenal’s Young Promise, Max Dowman, Signs Scholarship Agreement

Arsenal’s young talent, Max Dowman, only 15 years old, has agreed to sign a scholarship contract with the Premier League club. He is expected to be offered a professional contract once he turns 17. Dowman is considered one of the brightest prospects to emerge from the club’s youth system in recent years. He made his debut with the first team on August 23, in the 5-0 victory against Leeds United, at 15 years and 235 days old. The scholarship agreement ties him to Arsenal for two years from his 16th birthday, December 31st. Subsequently, he may be offered a professional contract, which will come into effect when he turns 17. Several renowned European clubs had shown interest in signing Dowman, but the young man, a lifelong Arsenal supporter, always wished to continue his development at the North London club.
In his debut against Leeds, Dowman, who won a penalty that Viktor Gyökeres converted, became the second youngest player in Premier League history. His Arsenal teammate, Ethan Nwaneri, holds the record for being the youngest. In addition, Dowman is the youngest goalscorer in the history of Arsenal Under-21 in Premier League 2, after scoring in his first start in the competition last month. With 15 years and 263 days, the young footballer broke the record previously set by Reiss Nelson. Dowman joins Bukayo Saka and Myles Lewis-Skelly as academy prospects who have made the leap to Mikel Arteta’s team in recent years.
