Trent Alexander-Arnold Suffers Injury and Will Be Out for Two Months

Right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold will miss approximately two months of competition due to a hamstring injury, according to sources close to the club. The injury occurred during the Champions League match against Marseille. Alexander-Arnold, 26, had to be substituted a few minutes after the start of the match at the Santiago Bernabéu, where Real Madrid achieved a 2-1 victory. Dani Carvajal, who came on as a substitute, was later sent off. Sources indicate that the estimated time out is six to eight weeks, which will prevent him from participating in the derby against Atlético de Madrid and he is unlikely to be available for El Clásico against Barcelona. Although it is speculated that the recovery time may be shortened due to his good physical condition, it is preferred not to take risks.

Real Madrid issued an official statement on Wednesday, informing that “following tests carried out today on our player Trent Alexander-Arnold by Real Madrid’s medical services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in the left leg’s femoral biceps. Further updates will be provided”.

The hamstring injury could also prevent his return to Anfield with Real Madrid, as the right-back ended his 20-year spell with Liverpool in the summer, but was scheduled to return with Alonso’s team on November 4.
