Chicago will host the WNBA All-Star Game in 2026

The city of Chicago is preparing to host the WNBA All-Star Game in 2026, the league announced this Thursday. The event will take place at the United Center on Saturday, July 25th. This will be the second time Chicago hosts the prestigious event. The first time was in 2022, although on that occasion the game was played at the Wintrust Arena, the main venue for the Chicago Sky of the WNBA. The Sky have also played some regular season games at the United Center, including one in 2025. The United Center, home to the NBA’s Bulls and the NHL’s Blackhawks, offers a larger capacity, with around 20,900 seats for basketball, compared to the 10,380 of the Wintrust Arena. Despite the change of main venue, Wintrust Arena will continue to be part of the All-Star festivities, as it will be the stage for the three-point contest and the skills challenge, scheduled for July 24. In addition, the interactive event for WNBA fans, “WNBA Live”, will take place at McCormick Place in Chicago during All-Star weekend.

“The WNBA is thrilled to bring the AT&T WNBA All-Star back to Chicago, which will undoubtedly offer unforgettable competition and community activities,” said Commissioner Cathy Engelbert.

The 2026 All-Star Game will be the second consecutive one in the Midwest region. This year’s event was held in Indiana.

“The Chicago Sky are excited to welcome the 2026 WNBA All-Star game back to Chicago,” said Adam Fox, CEO and president of the Sky.
