Brady Tkachuk, Senators Captain, Out with Injury

Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk will be out of action for at least a month due to a right hand injury, according to coach Travis Green this Tuesday. Tkachuk’s injury occurred on Monday during the game against the Nashville Predators, when defenseman Roman Josi hit him with his elbow in the first period. Despite the injury, the 26-year-old player remained in the game before leaving in the last half of the third period.

He’s going to lose a significant amount of time. We’ll know more in the next 24 hours. We don’t know exactly, but it’s four weeks or more. We don’t know exactly.

Green mentioned to reporters that surgery is a possibility for Tkachuk, but that, at a minimum, he will be out for four weeks. So far this season, Tkachuk has recorded three assists in three games for Ottawa, the team that drafted him in 2018. Brady’s brother, Matthew, is also injured and is expected to be out until December. Both brothers were among the first six players named by the United States for the initial team for the 2026 Olympic Games in June.
