David Pastrnak Will Miss Bruins’ Early Training Camp Due to Tendinitis
The Boston Bruins’ star scorer, David Pastrnak, will not participate in the first training sessions due to tendinitis, as announced by General Manager Don Sweeney. Sweeney clarified that, although the player will be on the ice, he will not train with the team during the first few days. The exact location of the tendinitis was not specified, but it was indicated that it arose during his last training period.Last season, Pastrnak led the Bruins with 43 goals and 63 assists, totaling 106 points, almost double that of the team’s next most productive player. In addition, he played in all 82 games of the season for the third consecutive time. Coach Marco Sturm commented that Pastrnak’s absence will provide opportunities for other players.“He’ll be on the ice, but he’ll join full practice next week,” Sweeney said.

Pastrnak and Charlie McAvoy were the alternate captains last season, after Brad Marchand was traded to the Florida Panthers. Sweeney revealed that the team has not yet decided who will be the next captain.“Normally, there’s always some surprise at training camp. I hope we have at least one or two. There will be opportunities, and that’s what excites me,” Sturm said.
