Jonah Gadjovich Extends Contract with the Panthers
Forward Jonah Gadjovich and the Florida Panthers have reached an agreement to extend his contract for two years and $1.8 million, which will keep him with the team until the 2027-28 season. The team announced this on Sunday. Gadjovich has recorded six goals and three assists in 84 games over three seasons with the Panthers. In addition, he scored two goals, one of them against the Toronto Maple Leafs in the Game 7 victory, and one assist in last season’s Stanley Cup playoffs.The extension was announced on Gadjovich’s 27th birthday. In the three games this season, Gadjovich has one assist and leads the team with 11 hits. In his career, Gadjovich has accumulated 19 points in 163 games with Florida, San Jose, and Vancouver. He was selected in the second round of the 2017 NHL draft by Vancouver, 55th overall. During his time with the Panthers, Gadjovich averages 19.7 hits per 60 minutes, the best on the team. Gadjovich, who could have become an unrestricted free agent after the season, is the eleventh forward the Panthers have under contract for next season, joining Aleksander Barkov, Matthew Tkachuk, Sam Reinhart, Sam Bennett, Carter Verhaeghe, Brad Marchand, Anton Lundell, Evan Rodrigues, Eetu Luostarinen, and Jesper Boqvist. A twelfth forward, Mackie Samoskevich, who could become a restricted free agent, may also get a new contract later this season.Jonah has become an integral part of our locker room and a strong contributor to our group on the ice.
