Ryker Evans Secures His Future with the Seattle Kraken

Seattle Kraken defenseman Ryker Evans has agreed to a two-year contract extension. The deal, which runs through the 2026-27 season, has an average annual value of $2.05 million. Evans, 23, had a standout first full season with the Kraken, recording 25 points with five goals and 20 assists in 73 games. Selected in the second round of the 2021 draft, Evans made his NHL debut on December 7, 2023.

“Ryker took a positive step in his first full season in the NHL,” commented General Manager Jason Botterill in a statement. “Since turning pro, he has shown improvement year after year, and we are confident that he will take his game to another level next season. We are pleased to have him under contract.”

The defenseman, who is 6 feet tall and weighs 195 pounds, has 34 points in 109 NHL games. In addition, he made his international debut with Team Canada at this year’s world hockey championship, where he had two assists in eight games.
