Ryker Evans Secures His Future with the Seattle Kraken

Seattle Kraken defenseman Ryker Evans has signed a two-year contract extension, securing his place on the team through the 2026-27 season. The deal has an average annual value of $2.05 million. Evans, 23, had a standout first full season with the Kraken, accumulating 25 points thanks to five goals and 20 assists in 73 games. Selected in the second round of the 2021 draft, the defenseman debuted in the NHL on December 7, 2023.

“Ryker took a positive step in his first full season in the NHL,” stated General Manager Jason Botterill. “Since turning pro, he has shown improvement year after year, and we are confident that he will elevate his game to the next level next season. We are pleased to have him under contract.”

The defenseman, who is 6 feet tall and weighs 195 pounds, has 34 points in 109 NHL games. In addition, he made his international debut with Team Canada at this year’s world hockey championship, where he recorded two assists in eight games.
