RALEIGH, N.C. – The Carolina Hurricanes have secured the continuity of Eric Robinson with a four-year contract worth $6.8 million.

The official announcement was made on Friday by General Manager Eric Tulsky. The agreement states that Robinson will have a $1.7 million impact on the team’s salary cap through the 2028-29 NHL season.

The player, originally from Bellmawr, New Jersey, achieved his personal bests last season, with 14 goals, 18 assists, and a total of 32 points. This occurred after his arrival at the Hurricanes as a free agent.

Robinson also contributed three points in 15 games during the team’s outstanding participation in the Eastern Conference final, where they ultimately fell to the Florida Panthers, who were crowned Stanley Cup champions.

“We are not surprised that Eric had his best professional season last year with Carolina. His size and speed fit perfectly with the way we want to play,” commented Tulsky.

Since Rod Brind’Amour took over as coach, Carolina has qualified for the playoffs for seven consecutive years. Robinson’s only previous postseason experience was in 2020 with Columbus.

At 30 years old, Robinson has accumulated 413 games, including regular season and playoffs, in the NHL. He has played with the Blue Jackets, Buffalo Sabres, and Hurricanes since his debut in 2018.
