Jack Hughes Leads Devils to Victory Over Maple Leafs

In a night full of action in the NHL, Jack Hughes shone with his third hat-trick in his career, leading the New Jersey Devils to a resounding 5-2 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The match, played on Tuesday night, saw the Devils demonstrate their offensive power, surpassing the Maple Leafs in an exciting duel.

Cody Glass and Brenden Dillon also contributed goals for the Devils, while Jake Allen shone with 23 saves between the pipes.

Jesper Bratt was key on offense, adding three assists for the Devils, who have strung together five consecutive victories after a season start with a loss to the Carolina Hurricanes.

On the Maple Leafs’ side, John Tavares and Matias Maccelli managed to score, but their efforts were not enough. Anthony Stolarz made 30 saves, while William Nylander contributed two assists.

The game took an unexpected turn when Toronto, which was leading 1-0 after the first period, suffered three goals in the first five minutes of the second, to the disappointment of the fans present at the Scotiabank Arena.

Maple Leafs defenseman Chris Tanev had to leave the game due to an upper-body injury after a collision with Devils center Dawson Mercer during a penalty situation in the second period.

Toronto challenged New Jersey’s first goal for goaltender interference, but the initial decision stood. The Devils took advantage of the power play situation resulting from the delay of game penalty, and Glass scored the second goal.
