ANAHEIM, Calif. – Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal will be out for two to three weeks due to an upper-body injury, the team announced Friday.
Dostal presents a record of 11-5-1 with an average of 2.81 goals against and a save percentage of .904 this season. His performance has been especially outstanding at home, where he has won eight of nine games, contributing to the Ducks’ position in first place in the Pacific Division as of Friday.
Dostal, 25, was selected in the third round of the 2018 draft. His solid performance in the last two seasons allowed the Ducks to dispense with the long-time starter, John Gibson. Anaheim traded Gibson to the Detroit Red Wings on June 28 in exchange for goaltender Petr Mrazek, a 2027 second-round pick and a 2026 fourth-round pick.
The announcement about Dostal’s recovery time came before the Ducks’ game against the Los Angeles Kings, after he was unavailable in the 5-4 loss to the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday. Ville Husso was the starting goalie against the Kings, with Mrazek as the backup.
