Shedeur Sanders ready for preseason game with the Browns
The young Cleveland Browns quarterback, Shedeur Sanders, is scheduled to participate in the last preseason home game against the Los Angeles Rams this Saturday. Browns coach Kevin Stefanski also confirmed that undrafted rookie wide receiver Isaiah Bond, who signed with the team on Monday, will play on Saturday after practicing during the week. Stefanski stated on Tuesday that, unless a setback occurs, Sanders will be on the field. Cleveland is expected to field its starters, including the newly appointed starting quarterback, Joe Flacco, for a period of between 20 and 25 plays. Dillon Gabriel, also a rookie, will be the backup, while Sanders will play as third in the position. Kenny Pickett, who returned to training on Wednesday, will not participate in Saturday’s game due to a hamstring injury. Sanders was held out of joint practices with the Philadelphia Eagles and last week’s second preseason game due to a strained oblique. However, he has already rejoined team practices.Sanders downplayed the controversy generated by Gabriel’s comments during an interview at the game last week, explaining that Gabriel approached him to clarify that the quote was not directed at him. When Gabriel was asked about “ignoring the noise” surrounding the Browns’ quarterback competition, Gabriel replied: “Yeah, it’s part of it. You know, there are performers and there are competitors, and I totally get it. But my job is to compete. And that’s what I’m focused on.” Gabriel’s comment about the “artists” was interpreted by many on social media as a reference to Sanders, who, despite being selected in the fifth round, has received more media attention than Gabriel. Sanders’ low draft position and his father, the Colorado coach and Pro Football Hall of Fame member, Deion Sanders, have made him one of the highest-profile NFL rookies this season. After the game, Gabriel clarified that his comment about the “artists” referred to the media.Everything is fine.

When asked if he believed Gabriel, Sanders replied: “I don’t know. And it’s not for me to sit here and say, ‘Oh, he did it, he didn’t do it’. That’s not going to change my life in any way.”Honestly, I don’t even think about anything. I don’t think about anything. If it’s not words or something at this moment, they can’t do anything to me. I know God put the ability and power in me to not even think about anyone else’s comments, I don’t care. It is what it is. I talked to Him. He told me on the plane. He came up, said, ‘No, brother, that wasn’t for you’… I’m not worried, regardless of what it was. Nobody’s words or anything affect me.
