OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Baltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely suffered an ankle injury on Tuesday and is expected to be out of action for “a few weeks,” according to coach John Harbaugh. The injury occurred at the end of practice, during individual training against safety Sanoussi Kane. Likely had to be carted off the field and then limped into the locker room.

“We’ll know more on Wednesday,” Harbaugh declared. “We’ll get an MRI to see exactly what needs to be done. It’s good that this is happening early in camp.”

Likely, 25 years old, is in the final year of his rookie contract and has a salary of $3.4 million for this season. Drafted in the fourth round of the 2022 draft, Likely set personal records last season with 42 receptions for 477 yards and six touchdowns. The Ravens boast one of the NFL’s most solid tight end groups, with Likely, Mark Andrews, and Charlie Kolar. All three players will be free agents after this season. In his three-year career, Likely has proven to be resilient, missing only two games due to injury. In 2022, he was absent for one game due to an ankle injury and last season he missed a game due to a hamstring injury. If Likely were to miss a significant amount of time, Kolar would likely have a more prominent role. Known for his blocking ability, Kolar managed nine receptions last season, accumulating 131 yards and a touchdown.
