Puka Nacua Injured in Rams’ Victory Over Ravens

BALTIMORE – Puka Nacua, wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams, suffered an ankle injury during the game against the Baltimore Ravens. Head coach Sean McVay mentioned that he still does not have enough information to determine if the player will be available for the Week 7 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Nacua’s injury occurred in the second quarter while attempting to catch a pass in the end zone from quarterback Matthew Stafford. After the play, Nacua slowly got up and began to walk off the field. After a few steps, he fell again and was attended to by the team’s medical staff. Nacua was assisted off the field and headed to the locker room. He returned to the game at the start of the third quarter, but did not receive any more passes.

Puka tried to keep playing, but didn’t feel well enough. I don’t know much about what’s going on and how he’ll feel. He could have forced it, but we were more cautious.

Nacua did not make any statements to the press after the game. The player, selected in the fifth round of the 2023 draft, was leading the NFL in receptions and receiving yards before the game. Before the injury, he had achieved two receptions for 28 yards. The wide receiver Davante Adams commented:

You care about him, but in the end it’s Puka Nacua and you know how tough he is. He’ll probably recover. Obviously, he wasn’t feeling great, but I’m sure with a little time to recover this week, he’ll be able to heal and come back.

Stafford also had no information about Nacua’s injury, but said:

I know it’s really tough and he was able to play some snaps again, so we’ll see. He’s an important part of our team and our offense, but I think the other players stepped up and did a good job.
