Sean McVay Suffers Injury in Game Against the Titans
Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay revealed that he suffered a plantar fascia rupture during last Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans, in which the Rams were victorious. McVay made the statement on Monday night on his show “Coach McVay Show”, produced by the Rams. The youngest coach to win a Super Bowl did not specify the exact moment the injury occurred, but he was seen with clumsy movements while calling a timeout during the match, which ended with a score of 33-19.McVay humorously added: “The good news is that I’m not playing. I’m just on the bench observing, so if I have a little limp to add some style, then they’ll know why.” The plantar fascia is a thick tissue that runs along the sole of the foot. McVay did not mention whether he will need to use an orthopedic boot while recovering from the injury. At 39 years old, McVay played as a wide receiver at Miami of Ohio. He has been an active and mobile coach during his nine seasons on the Rams’ bench, often running towards the referees to converse, or sometimes celebrating in the end zone with his players. The Rams, with a 2-0 record, will face the current Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, on Sunday.“The foot is fine,” McVay said. “Yeah, I tore my plantar fascia. Well, that’s a good thing, because I guess it allows you to recover a little bit quicker. I was being dramatic, limping at the end of the game, but the MRI confirmed that I did it.”
