Detroit Lions Suffer Significant Injuries

Detroit, Michigan – The Detroit Lions have activated the injured reserve list for rookie safety Dan Jackson following an injury sustained during Sunday’s practice. Lions head coach Dan Campbell indicated that Jackson’s injury “doesn’t look good,” without specifying a timeline for his return. “It looks like he’ll be out for a while,” Campbell added. Jackson, selected in the seventh round of the draft, was a Lions pick from the University of Georgia. Despite being the number 230 pick, he was considered a player with potential, especially after being recognized with the third All-SEC team in his first full-time starting season in 2024. In his college years, Jackson finished third on the team in total tackles, accumulating 64, and earned a reputation as one of the team’s most reliable defenders.

There are a million things that can happen with this. The only thing I can say is that he’s on the injured list now. I wish I could give you more information.

In addition to Jackson’s absence, cornerback Ennis Rakestraw Jr., the Lions’ second-round pick in 2024, also suffered a shoulder injury during Sunday’s practice. Campbell commented that Rakestraw Jr. will be out for a while.
