Sexual Assault Case Against Isaiah Bond Dismissed

Former Texas wide receiver Isaiah Bond will not face additional criminal charges after a Collin County, Texas grand jury dismissed the sexual assault case against him, District Attorney Greg Willis announced Thursday.

“After reviewing all the evidence presented, a Collin County grand jury issued a ‘no bill’ on the sexual assault charge involving Isaiah Bond, which means an indictment will not be issued,” Willis stated.

This ruling concludes the criminal proceedings in this matter. Following the news of the case’s closure, Bond released a statement on Instagram indicating his intention to sign with the Cleveland Browns. Bond thanked the Browns “for believing in me” and expressed his gratitude for the prosecutor’s and courts’ decision not to press charges. Furthermore, he added: “I am determined to show the Browns organization and everyone who believes in me, that they did well in trusting me.”

However, sources indicate that no agreement has yet been reached between Bond and the Browns. Bond was arrested in April on a sexual assault warrant and was released after posting a $25,000 bond. After his release, Bond stated on social media that the accusation against him was “falsely evident”. Subsequently, he sued the woman who accused him, alleging that the sexual encounter was consensual. The lawsuit, which included a defamation claim, was dismissed last month by the U.S. District Court in the Northern District of Texas. Bond was a very promising prospect for this year’s NFL draft, but he was not selected after his arrest. In his only season with Texas in 2024, Bond caught 34 passes for 540 yards and five touchdowns. He spent his first two seasons at Alabama, where he caught 65 passes for 888 yards and five touchdowns.
