James Conner Leaves Field with Injury

Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner was removed from Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers due to a right ankle injury. Conner suffered the injury after a nine-yard run, with 12:26 remaining in the third quarter. The trainers quickly attended to Conner after he fell to the ground. Players from both teams knelt as he was attended to. All of the Cardinals’ bench came onto the field to see Conner as he was being put on the stretcher. Before the injury, Conner, 30, had run nine times for 22 yards, his longest run since Week 1. Conner is coming off two consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, the first of his career. In November 2024, he signed a two-year extension that would keep him in Arizona through the 2026 season. His base salary of $3.64 million for this year is injury guaranteed.
