Good News for the Falcons: Star Receivers Ready for Sunday

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – The Atlanta Falcons get a significant boost to their offense. For the first time in a month and a half, the starting wide receiver corps is completely healthy.
Drake London and Darnell Mooney, two key pieces in the offensive scheme, have no injury designation for the upcoming game. This indicates that both players are ready to participate in Sunday night’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Both London and Mooney had been limited this week due to shoulder injuries. London suffered an injury in the final minutes of last week’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Mooney, for his part, was injured on the first day of training camp on July 24 and only began practicing again two weeks ago.
In Week 1, London accumulated 55 yards on eight receptions. In his third season last year, London stood out, ranking fourth in the NFL in receiving yards (1,271), ninth in receptions (100), and tied for 11th in receiving touchdowns (9), all personal bests.
Mooney, in 2024, achieved 992 yards on 64 receptions and reached a career high with five touchdowns.
Falcons rookie James Pearce Jr. (ankle) and rookie cornerback Billy Bowman (shoulder) are considered questionable, although coach Raheem Morris expressed optimism about the possibility of both playing.
Backup receiver Casey Washington (concussion) and return specialist Jamal Agnew have been ruled out. Cornerback Dee Alford will be the primary returner in Agnew’s absence, according to Morris.
