Najee Harris Activated for Chargers Debut

The Chargers have activated running back Najee Harris from the illness/non-football injury list, according to a source confirmed.

This decision allows Harris to be eligible to play in the first game of the season against the Kansas City Chiefs in Brazil.

Harris suffered an injury in a fireworks accident on July 4, which landed him on the injured list before the start of training camp.

Harris’s agent, Doug Hendrickson, indicated that the injury was superficial and that he expected the player to be ready for the regular season.

Despite missing all the training camp practices, Harris began jogging and doing exercises until he started working separately with a trainer.

General Manager Joe Hortiz stated that Harris was “on track” for Week 1.

Although Harris has been moved to the active roster, it is not guaranteed that he will play in the first game.

Harris’ durability, who has never missed a game in his career, is an important factor for the Chargers, and now it seems he has the opportunity to maintain his streak.

When Harris returns, he will share the field with first-round rookie Omarion Hampton, hoping to form one of the league’s best ground offenses.

The Chargers haven’t had a 1,000-yard rusher since 2017. Harris’s arrival is crucial for the team.

Harris ran for 1,000 yards in each of his first four seasons with the Steelers.
